The coach behind the pathway
Carlos understands every stage of a young gymnast’s journey - from their first introduction to the sport to high-performance competition. Most recently, he helped coach Stanford University to the 2026 NCAA National Championship.
A former Texas A&M gymnast and team captain, Carlos helped lead the team to a second-place finish at the 2022 NAIGC National Championships. After graduating that same year, he moved into coaching and athlete development in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics.
In September 2024, Carlos joined Stanford University as an Assistant Coach. He coached four NCAA individual national champions and 24 All-Americans and was part of the staff named the 2026 National Coaching Staff of the Year by the College Gymnastics Association.
Carlos has travelled across the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe to study elite gymnastics development. His international experience includes visits to 11 countries and 15 gyms, where he learned from 37 coaches and 130 national team members.
Carlos now leads the MAG Performance Squad at Jurong, helping boys progress from recreational gymnastics towards developmental and high-performance pathways.
